State of Real Estate in Apopka

The Apopka area home sales continue to move along, with July home sales reaching 168 sold in 2019. While the July home inventory decreased by 63% since 2009, there were still over 270 homes available. Homes are going under contract in less than two months with 205 pending homes sales.


Apopka also has about 813 platted lots available for construction. The City's Community Development Department reports that there are over 60 residential developments, either approved or going through the development approval process, accounting for about 5,500 dwelling units.


Why move to Apopka? According to the University of Florida's Bureau of Economic and Business Research (BEBR), the incorporated portion of Apopka's population, as of April 2019, was 52,404. Apopka is still ranked the second largest city in Central Florida. Apopka has 19,537 households and an average of 2.68 persons per household. The median age being 36.6 years old.
